Under the auspices of the Cuba Chamber of Commerce,
and in partnership with many other community groups, we have placed the volunteer spirit of Cuba, NY on the map.
Together, we have erected a 150 foot flagpole, flying a 20'x38'
Garrison
Flag. The project is dedicated to the spirit of volunteerism and the
volunteers who have made, and will continue to make, our Village,
Town, local
region, and country proud. The flag is lighted at night and
is viewable from the Rt. I-86 expressway. According to the
manufacturer, it is one of the tallest flagpoles in the eastern
United States, and the tallest along I-86. The flagpole in the
heart of downtown Village of Cuba.
The Cuba NY Chamber
of Commerce asks each family of the Village and Town to consider
making a contribution for the "Liberty Pole" project.
The project is meet to permanent memorial to community service
and volunteerism. Cuba's volunteers have been a great source of
pride and accomplishment. We have benefited from our youth
organizations, service groups, firemen, veteran's organizations,
volunteers who aid the elderly, and many other unpaid heroes.
We hope that you
will consider making a contribution to this memorial. Of
course, all donations are welcome. The community of Cuba is
regaining its vigor through the efforts of concerned students,
citizens, business people, and community groups alike. This project provides source of
inspiration , for
our community, that will outlast many of those making contributions.
